Extreme's new 2007 walls

Brand new from Extreme Engineering and distributed in the UK by Kids Play is the mobile 2 climbing wall in polymer.

Ideal for use at a wide range of venues - such as theme parks, fairs, festivals, corporate events, farm parks, children's parties and children's play centres - as well as for promotions and advertising, mobile 2 comes fully fitted with a SpaceSaverâ„¢ trailer for operation either indoors or out.

The new attraction, which is lifted hydraulically to a height of 20ft/6.1m, is a semi-round design created to maximise the wall's climbing surface area - 130sq ft/39.6sq m - but minimise its working footprint. In operation it is only 12ft long behind the wall.

Hand sculpted and painted, the wall is constructed using a new polymer technology which allows the company to mould features from real rock for extra realism - even fossils. It is reported to feel like the real thing as well! A further feature is Extreme Engineering's patented redundant auto-belay system - Belay in the Box - which has a low maintenance air-over-oil design.

Additional accessories include climber timers - digital displays used to time the speed of a climber and count the number of climbs during an event - and climbing holds in the shape of animals to assist in the themeing of a wall. A further upgrade is an optional Extreme Granite colour instead of the standard Sandstone shade.

Extreme Engineering says that the average time per climber is three minutes, equating to 40 climbers an hour using Speed Harnesses.
